UGC ads are all about making your ad relatable to the audience by creating content with elements that look and feel familiar. This is often in the form of real-life experiences, testimonials, comparison reviews etc. But how does one add some extra but real subtle magic to their ads?
There is always the trick of using trending audio to grab the attention of your audience. However, music isn't timeless in the world of advertising. UGC ads have been experimenting with several ways to increase familiarity and relatability in ads - there is no limit to creativity here! Recent trends focus on using native fonts such as those of Instagram and TikTok, using stickers, and emojis.
Let’s look at a few examples:
This ad by Ovira uses native fonts in the ad copy throughout the clip. It is a smart way to give a brief statement or highlight keywords with the voiceover as it is easier for the audience to read something that is exactly or at least similar to what they consume daily. It is quite basic but makes a huge difference when compared to ads with foreign fonts in their ad copy.
This ad by Curology makes good use of the comment sticker in the hook drawing the target audience in without having a graphic and mind-blowing visual. The comment sticker followed by the rest of the ad answering it using a native font in the ad copy along with the text highlight feature keeps the viewer engaged till the very end. Of course, their brilliant use of their brand colour is an additional soothing effect.
Yet another ad by Curology that we want to talk about. The Notes app with a green screen element!! Quite a refreshing visual of a common trend. This is proof that your notes app doesn’t have to be just another sad girl aesthetic where you write poetry instead of - well you know; it could very well be a huge element in your next creative!
These ads by Foxtale -🏆💞. This is such a clever way to use emojis in ads! Foxtale gives an entire product description along with the USPs and desired results with just emojis!! This is now probably quite high on our list of ideas💡to try out.
